Sprinkler Fitters Union Local 281, U.A. Members Only Raffle
Friday, April 03, 2015
We will be holding a raffle for Local 281 Members
Only. The prize awarded will be a 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis. There
is no cost to enter. Currently, about one-third of our members’ contact
information is not current. It is our hope that this raffle will help us
to eliminate that problem. It costs all the members $700.00 every time a
postcard is sent out. D.A.s and notified meetings must be mailed to
members according to the By-Laws, but if we can cut down on the postcards being
sent out, it can save the Local time and money. If your information is
already current with the Local, and you wish to enter the contest, you must still complete
the entry form to be entered into the raffle.
The raffle will be drawn at the Annual Open House that will be held in
September 2015. The winner must be in good standing to take
possession of the car. All members of Local 281 are eligible to enter the
drawing. Please note that all information on the entry form must be
completed to be entered into the drawing. Only one entry form
per member is permitted. If multiple entry forms are received from the
same member, the member will receive one entry into the drawing. The
winner does not need to be present at the Open House. The entry form is
available on the Members Only section on our website and at the Local 281 Union
Office. Entry forms may be dropped off at the Union Office, returned by
mail, by fax to (708) 597-1894, or by email to email@example.com. Forms that are returned
by email will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive a
confirmation email, your entry form has not been correctly submitted! Winner
is responsible for all applicable taxes on prize.
Welcome to Sprinkler Fitters Local 281
At the United Association of Sprinkler Fitters, Local 281, we're responsible for protecting businesses, schools, homes, and, more importantly, precious lives, from the devastation of fire. It's no wonder we take our jobs so seriously.
Too many cut corners by not installing reliable automatic sprinkler systems. In the event of a fire, these shortcuts can lead to immeasurable damage. Statistics show that buildings with proper fire protection systems suffer twenty-four percent less damage and fire loss than unsprinklered properties.
According to the National Fire Protection Association, from 1983 to 1987, damage from hotel fires was seventy-eight percent less in building with sprinkler systems than those without. What's more, the water damage from automatic sprinkler systems is considerably less than from a fire department's hose stream because sprinkler systems require a minimal amount of water to operate. Oftentimes, a fire is brought under control by only three sprinkler heads, sometimes even fewer.
With so much riding on the skills of our Sprinkler Fitters, it is critical that our journeymen receive the best training available. In addition to a rigorous apprenticeship program, many UA Sprinkler Fitters choose to expand their skills by voluntarily participating in advanced training programs. Some even go on to become instructors through the United Association International Instructor Training Program.
The members of Sprinkler Fitters Local 281 are committed to providing quality installation, service and repair to the piping and fixtures used in sprinkler systems. They know that when human lives are at stake, there is no room for error and there might not be a second chance to get it done right. That's why the Sprinkler Fitters of Local 281 do the job right, the first time, every time.
