Dear Brothers and Sisters:
Thank you for your patience and support during these extremely difficult times.
Your overwhelming support in rejecting the N.F.S.A.’s first proposal and supporting the authorization to strike turned the tide in the Negotiations.
To ratify the current Proposed Agreement, we received 691 mail-in ballots. 635 Members voted Yes – to approve the Proposed Agreement, 56 Members voted No – not to approve the Proposed Agreement. The Members voted 92% to 8% in favor of ratifying the current Proposed Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The $1.00 Economic Increase is retroactive to July 1, 2020.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, United Association General President Mark McManus issued an emergency order that all Economic Increases be allocated to wages.
Please be patient with your contractor in receiving your retroactive pay increase. This may take a few weeks in some cases. We must furnish the Contractors with copies of the Agreement. They will be mailed this week.
Some Members have expressed concerns that we did not have discussions regarding the Proposed Agreements. I agree with these Members. However, due to Illinois restrictions on public gatherings and meeting size, this was not possible. I am hopeful that we will be able to hold regular in-person meetings starting in the fall.
The full four-year Agreement will be sent to the printer, The Members will receive an Agreement booklet as soon as they are printed. In the meantime, the full Agreement will be posted on the Members Only section of our website as soon as it is finalized and executed. This may take a couple of days. If you have trouble accessing the Members Only section, please contact the Union Office for assistance.
Thank you again for your support and understanding.
