We Are One Rally
[4/6/2011] - On Saturday, April 9, 2011 there will be a rally in downtown Chicago at the Daley Plaza.  Dennis Fleming (773-213-5201) and several other union members will be attending this rally.  In order to save money and promote solidarity, members are meeting at the Rock Island train station at 111th Street in Morgan Park.  The train departs at 11:16 a.m., arriving downtown at 11:49 a.m.  The return train options are a 2:30p.m. or 4:30 p.m. departure.  link

Local 281 Takes First and Second Place
[3/29/2011] - In a recent two day competition held at the Local 281 and Local 597 training halls, our apprentices were awarded the top two spots.  Steve Olkiewicz a fifth year apprentice with Valley Fire Protection took first place.  Tony Peco, also a fifth year apprentice with Automatic Fire Systems took second place. We are extremely proud and wish them continued success in the Regional Contest to be held in June 2011.  more

[2/28/2011] - As the Wisconsin Rally continues to grow, a U.A. Day at the Capitol in Madison, has been planned for Friday, March 4 and Saturday, March 5, 2011.  The location is on Wisconsin Avenue on Capitol Square at 11:00.  Sprinkler Fitters Local 281, U.A. plans to support our brothers to the North and help them stave off the attacks on their livelihood.
